Home Description

Description of the home

Hi I'm Taranga and am searching for someone with an open mind to move in my apartment short term in a secure complex in Centennial Park.

I am located on the top floor (three flights of stairs) and the apartment overlooks the Entertainment Quarter so you get to hear all the games etc. The apartment itself is full of light throughout out the day and has a huge balcony (full of plants) and the complex gardens are beautiful and lush.

Your room is big enough for a double/queen bed, desk and has a built in wardrobe. There is already a mattress in room (double), beside table and light. Its light and very quiet. Screen on windows to keep out those mozzies at night.

There is a 355 bus which takes you to Bondi Junction or to Newtown. Cafe's are close by and you are in walking distance to Oxford Street. The light rail is also a lovely 10 minute walk that takes you straight into Central Station and the city.

The apartment itself is old style but lots of room and the kitchen is big, not that I use it much. I do not cook but would love someone who does and I clean, thats the deal there.

There is on street parking only for you but have a garage for storage if you need it.

This area is a very quiet place and the birds will be singing there songs in the evening times and early morning.

Neighbours are all lovely as well if that is important to you.

I am the lower end of Cook Road so right near the Centennial Park.
Everything is close by with the Entertainment Quarter only being a 5 minute walk away.

About occupants
I’m looking to welcome someone for a short-term stay only — ideally a few nights a week, a few weeks, or a couple of months at most. This space suits people who are in Sydney temporarily for work, study blocks, projects, FIFO arrangements, or those needing a comfortable, well-kept base rather than a long-term lease.

I work from home and don’t have a conventional 9–5, so I’m around the apartment quite a bit. I’m fairly introverted and value a calm, respectful home, which is why this setup works best for someone who’s either out during the day, here part-time, or happy doing their own thing when home.

That said, I really enjoy a home with easy, friendly connection. Simple things like a quick chat, a laugh, or sharing a tea or meal now and then help the space feel welcoming. Small check-ins — “good morning,” “heading out,” or “back later” — go a long way in creating a relaxed, comfortable vibe. I’m not looking for total strangers passing in silence, but also nothing intense — just natural, human ease.

The Living Setup
One of the bedrooms is used as my workspace, and I sleep in the living room area. The living room is mainly my space, but it’s always been shared comfortably with previous short-term guests. It’s something best seen in person to make sure it feels right for you.

I lived in India for many years, where rooms often serve multiple purposes — that’s how I see the apartment. I’m also up quite late, so this arrangement is practical and has worked smoothly for years.

As you’ll see in the photos, the apartment has evolved into a kind of indoor green space, filled with plants. What began as a small hobby is now a full-time passion, and it brings a creative, calming energy to the home that most people really enjoy.

Because I’m home often (and a little OCD in the best way), the apartment is kept very clean — meaning minimal cleaning required on your end.
I’m always happy to share a meal (especially if you cook and I clean), and I’m very open to the occasional TV-series binge when it suits us both.

This Would Suit You If…
* You’re looking for a short-term stay only
* You’re working, studying, FIFO, or in Sydney part-time
* You’re comfortable in a shared home and communicate easily
* You’re clean, tidy, respectful, and reliable
* You appreciate a calm, friendly environment rather than a party house.

Payment via direct debit is preferred.

This home suits someone with a full-time job or structured schedule who is looking for a short-term stay — whether you’re working in Sydney temporarily, FIFO, on a contract, or just need a calm, well-run base for a limited period.
You might be someone who’s often out and about, or equally someone who’s happy spending downtime in your room studying, gaming, or relaxing. Either works well here.
You’re comfortable living in a shared space and understand the basics of good shared living — clean, tidy, respectful, and reliable, with rent paid on time. Payment via direct debit is preferred, as that’s what’s currently in place.
If this sounds like a good fit and you’d like to know more, feel free to get in touch and we can arrange a coffee and a chat to see if it suits us both.
