Hey! My name is Dorsa, and I am a prospective Ph.D. student in astrophysics at the University of Sydney. I am currently in the U.S., but I will be moving to Sydney by March 1st, 2026. I will be moving on my own, though I hope to have family and close friends visit.
A little bit about me: I am 28 years old and have been living in the U.S. for more than a decade. I was born and raised in Iran, and my family and I moved to the U.S. when I was in high school. I really love what I study—so I am definitely a bit of a nerd. I also enjoy learning about a wide range of topics, including history, theater, and literature.

A good flatmate, to me, is someone who is respectful, considerate, and easy to communicate with. I really appreciate people who are mindful of shared spaces, keep things reasonably clean, and are open about expectations or issues if they come up.
I also think living with flatmates can be a great way to build genuine friendships. Ideally, I’d love to live with people who can become not just housemates, but good friends too, and create a warm, positive vibe at home :).

Food sharing and furniture
I’m really flexible when it comes to food and would be happy either sharing or doing our own thing. I think these things tend to work themselves out naturally, especially when flatmates become friends. I’m not vegetarian or vegan.
I do have a digestive issue, so I usually eat at home and keep things pretty simple. I can make a few Persian dishes—which I think are amazing—but I haven’t cooked a ton overall, so I’ll definitely be learning as I go.
