Personal introduction
Dear Flatmate Finders,
My name is Marita Mapalad Roque from the Philippines. I am inquiring on behalf of my two daughters, aged 19 and 18, who will both be studying in Sydney.
My eldest daughter is currently a student at Macquarie University and also works part-time at Macquarie Shopping Centre.
My youngest daughter will begin her studies in February 2026 at Australian Catholic University – Strathfield.
We are looking for a 2–3 bedroom, fully furnished house or apartment that my daughters can call home during their studies. Ideally, the property would include:
A kitchen and washer/dryer
Bills (electricity, water) and Wi-Fi included, if possible
Convenient access to both Macquarie University and ACU Strathfield
I will also be visiting them once a year for 2–3 weeks, so the home will be primarily for my daughters’ use.
We value a safe, well-maintained home and can assure you of responsible tenancy, timely payments, and care for the property.
Our target budget is AUD 500–650 per week, depending on the inclusions and location.
We would like the lease to commence from February 16, 2026.
Thank you for considering our application. I would be grateful if you could provide available options that may suit our needs.
Warm regards,
Marita Mapalad Roque

Compatible people
For me, a good flatmate is someone who is:
Responsible – respects house rules and commitments.
Trustworthy – someone you can rely on, especially when sharing a home.
Respectful – considerate of personal space, privacy, and belongings.
Clean and organized – keeps common areas tidy and pleasant.
Friendly and supportive – easy to communicate with, making the home atmosphere positive.
Personal Qualities I Bring:
I am a very good payor and take all financial obligations seriously. As a retired banker, I value integrity and honesty, and I always make sure rent and bills are paid on time, without delays. I also instill these traits in my daughters, who will be the main tenants. They are responsible, respectful, and trustworthy, just as I am, and I have confidence they will be excellent tenants who will take good care of the property.

Food sharing and furniture
Food Sharing:
My daughters prefer to arrange their own meals, but they are happy to share the kitchen respectfully with others.
Dietary Preferences:
They love vegetables and healthy food, but they are not vegetarian or vegan.
Furniture:
We do not have living room furniture, so it would be ideal if the property is already furnished.
