Personal introduction
Hi, I’m just over 50. I’ve moved house after a 30 year private lease after my landlord died. I’m a creative person a reader and a thinker. I have a couple of degrees, worked as a teacher of performance up until 2018… I’ve been pretty sick having nearly died 2 years ago (sepsis caused by a kidney stone). I found myself in a medical black hole (no drs had any idea). I’ve now diagnosed my own endocrine tumour (it caused the kidney stone) with a 6-9 month wait for surgery and total cure. I run a small business making beeswax candles and small ceramic pieces. My studio is in Surrey Hills. I’m a bit limited at the moment due to illness, the business is ticking over, so $$ is mix of partial sickness benefit and business income. I’m also auditing a couple of uni classes with the aim to write and publish (I dropped out of a PhD 20 years ago, a recent adhd diagnosis has had me return to that area of my life). I’ll be heading to the studio a few days a week, and uni at least once a week (Biblical studies, philosophy, literature are my main academic interests) . Sundays it’s almost always church then a day at the studio (I’m theologically very liberal, as is my church: Quackers almost) … I’m looking for somewhere quiet, I’m social but this illness is making me sensitive to sound and other things. Cooking a house meal once a week would be nice so we are not strangers, but not a deal breaker. If I bake a cake or cookies … it’s certainly open slather. I’m big on sharing. I’d need to know your favourite chocolate bar or preferences in sour dough bread…

Food sharing and furniture
I’m omnivorous. I do like to cook. I also dumpster dive so if you think that’s cool … there is usually plenty of access to free food. If this is not your thing, I’m content to bring my own fridge, and do my own thing. I have everything I need, a whole house of supplies, so I’d bring my own bed, desk and bookshelves as a minimum. Most of it is in storage at the moment and some will stay that way. It’s also time to downsize… A lot of my most messy creative projects are at the studio. but I’d likely bring home small things: finished pendants that need glueing, or sketch books for designing… I typically have something in my hands, even if it’s a night in front of the TV.
Description of pets
I don’t currently have a pet. But my favourite people have feathers. I pray another parrot is in my future. In the meantime, I’ll chat to the locals, put up some nest boxes and install bird baths …
