Personal introduction
Hi! My girlfriend, Ellie, and I have been living in Melbourne since June 2024, and have recently moved out of our house in Carlton as it is being sold by the landlord. We are both working holiday makers, and are returning home to the UK in May 2026 when our second year visa expires. We are looking for a relatively short term lease transfer or sublet in and around the northern suburbs.
Compatible people
We are both very friendly, sociable, and low maintenance people, who love meeting new friends. We are both outdoorsy people and enjoy hikes and walks. I am an avid sports player and fan, and play a lot of soccer, basketball, and run a lot (we also recently picked up a spike ball set which has been a lot of fun in Edinburgh gardens!). Ellie is incredibly driven and a brilliant problem solver, and is passionate about marketing and business development. She has also recently taken up painting again, and had adorned our old house with beautiful works of art. We both also love cooking new and interesting dishes, cooking for friends, and eating together as a group.
Food sharing and furniture
We have a decent bit of furniture (mirrors, coffee tables, bed, etc) from our old house, but can easily find new homes for everything if it’s inconvenient to move them in. Regarding food, we both operate under a kind of “what’s mine is yours” philosophy. With former flatmates, things like bread, milk, butter, spice, and other basics were almost always shared, and we were always happy to share other more specific foods upon request.
Description of pets
We both have had family dogs back home, and signed up for a cat fostering system through the Lost Dogs home (confusing name, I know) and looked after several cats over the course of the year before they found a permanent home. We have none at the minute, but we love all animals big and small, and would be happy to move into a home with any pet.
